| Running low on de-chlorinator, I decided to do some comparison shopping to find the best bang for the buck, and thought I'd organize and post the results for everyone.
I converted all dosages to the required amount per 10 gallons of water to remove chlorine only. Some of the products require you to use more to remove chloramine or de-toxify ammonia. Use the manufacturers links for more detailed information about each product.
I personally see Prime as the clear winner here, and just ordered a 2L bottle of it. Not only is it the only product which covers every category, but it is also 5 times more potent than most of the other products, so it will last 5 times as long as comparable sized bottles. Up to this point, I have been using API Stress Coat, which has worked out very well in my tanks.

| i have always used prime...for many years as i have always had much water to change and the 16.9 ounce bottle treats 5000 gallons..it is also your best friend in the biggining cycle process even in fresh water as it does bound up amonnia, nitrite and nitrate.aside from the sulphur rotten egg smell it is clearly the winner.did i mention it it also detoxifies heavy metals and provides some slime coat..do it to it. | |

| After reading over the comparisons, I am so impressed with Prime and will be switching to that next! Thanks for putting that together. That was a lot of work! I don't remember if Nautilus carries it but will ask the next time I am in there. | |

| Pond prime is the same thing just more concentrated for those of you who deal with large water changes. I use a 24 watt uv and a airstone in 50 gals of water and in 12 hours the water is clear of chlorine and chlorimines. I hate using chemicals of any kind if I don't have too. | |

| Yeah, de-chlorinator is the only chemical that goes into my tanks anymore, and that's only because I don't have a container large enough to hold the water needed for the large water changes I do weekly for all 329g of my tanks.
I'll have to look into Pond Prime. I imagine it would be quite a bit less expensive that way. It'll be a while though, as I just received the 2L bottle of regular prime I ordered.

| I use prime, go through a 4L jug every 6-8 months.... We Need to get a much larger water container for that UV vixen, at least big enough to do half the water changes in the house | |

| I used to run internal UV sterilizers in my tanks, but the bulbs burn out so quick, and are so costly to replace, I decided it wasn't worth it. Worked out fine actually, because in the time it took them to burn out, my tanks established themselves well enough, and I upped my filtration enough, that they aren't really necessary anyway. | |
